| The JP-8000 Patch Editor II (anyone
got a better name?) is a (very) pre-release program that allows JP8K
patches to be grabbed and organised in a Windows Explorer sort of way.
The source code is offered so that people with a JP8K and some programming knowledge can help develop it into a useable product. It's sort of useable now, but it saves libraries in its own internal format, so it could really do with some WinJP8KLib file support if anyone knows the format. The Visual C++ 5.0 project and source code for this program is available as a zip file from here. Downloading implies that you agree not to sell any software based on this source code, and that you'll be willing to let your modifications be included in the release version when it's in a stable, useable form. The program will be freeware. The reason why there's no executable program for download is that it doesn't have any proper configuration facilities yet (like selecting which MIDI interface the JP is connected to). They're hard-coded values in the source, so it would be hit or miss as to whether or not it would work on a different system. Hopefully this will be added soon. If anyone wants to be notified when the first version is available, then mail me at kevin@susa.net. |
